For today's project, I'm going to show you an altered charger plate I did for a recent swap.
It's a normal run of the mill charger that I got on a four pack from Big Lots.
My partner wanted a vintage feel to the plate since I was to include a picture of her grandparents on their wedding day. I was more than honored to do this for her. I love vintage pictures!
I started with my charger plate. I primed it by sanding it all over. I then used my beloved Mod Podge to give it one coat. I let it dry.

I started with my charger plate. I primed it by sanding it all over. I then used my beloved Mod Podge to give it one coat. I let it dry.
I then coated it with Mod Podge again on the rim of the plate. This was for the lacy ribbon I started adhering to it. I added more Mod Podge to the center of the plate to attach the second plate.
You can see here the raised middle plate added more dimension to the charger plate.
I then added the picture and rounded it off with my handmade paper flowers and various other charms and items. These were to personalize the plate and give it an essence of her grandparents.
And here is the finished plate.
Thanks for Looking
